A Little Bit About...

Jane Cooper
Certified Facilitator of Grof Breathwork® and Holotropic Breathwork™ 

     Jane holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology and works in a private practice where she offers transpersonal psychotherapy within the IFS (Internal Family Systems) model, DBR (Deep Brain Reorientating),  individual breathwork and facilitates holotropic breathwork group workshops. ​She started training with Stan and Christina Grof in 1993, has apprenticed with pioneers of this powerful method for many years and is certified facilitator of holotropic breathwork. She has decades of direct experience and training in the healing potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness and in that has the capacity to hold sacred space for people to do deep work.​Jane is passionate about life and feels blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to witness an often sacred portion of people’s life journeys when facilitating holotropic breathwork.

Tami Denice
Co-facilitator 

     Tami Denice will be co-facilitating with Jane at our November 8th and 9th workshop. She is a certified Holotropic Breathwork facilitator, a Soul-Centered Depth Psychology Coach, and dream analyst. Tami is currently studying at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich to become a Jungian Analyst. For the past twelve years, she has focused on consciousness and transpersonal/depth psychological experiential practices, beginning after an awakening experience while rafting in the Grand Canyon. Synchronicity led her directly to a Grof Transpersonal Training weeklong retreat and she hasn't looked back.

     Tami believes Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful way to access what Jung calls the “two-million-year-old ancient (wo)man” inside who has important guidance for our life journey. She currently lives in Salmon Arm, BC and regularly returns to Calgary. Find out more about Tami on her website: www.tamidenice.com

Michelle Spink
Assistant

     Michelle Spink is a yoga teacher and certified breathwork and cold exposure facilitator. Since discovering breathwork in 2020, she has devoted herself to exploring its profound capacities, apprenticing in Holotropic Breathwork workshops to deepen her experience with non-ordinary states of consciousness.

     Before stepping into this work, Michelle spent 17 years in corporate leadership and graduated cum laude from the University of Western Ontario’s MBA program. She is passionate about weaving together practices that repattern the nervous system, engage the body somatically, and bring awareness to the mind. Through this work, Michelle supports others in cultivating resilience, moving through life with greater ease, and opening more fully to love.

Jess Hood
Assistant

     Jess has been involved with the Holotropic Breathwork community since 2022 and brings a warm, grounded presence to support both first-time and experienced breathers. With a background in child and youth counseling, she is skilled in holding safe, supportive space for emotional exploration and healing.Rooted in a personal spiritual practice of mindfulness and meditation, Jess approaches this work with deep respect for the power of ceremony and the inner wisdom that breath can unlock. She is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and holds a gentle, non-judgmental awareness of the many layers within each person’s inner world. She believes in the innate healing intelligence within all of us and is honored to support others as they connect with that wisdom through breath, presence, and community.

Karoliina
Assistant

     Karoliina discovered the deep healing potential of Holotropic Breathwork in 2022. She is grateful to support others in this practice and to witness their innate capacity for healing. Her own journey began after many years of living with chronic health challenges. What began as a search for relief unfolded into a spiritual practice and a profound process of transformation, guiding her to train in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. With a Master’s degree in aquatic biology, Karoliina weaves scientific understanding with a deep respect for the inner healing intelligence of every individual.

Matthew Jess
Assistant

     Matthew brings a warm and steady energy to his role as a breathwork assistant. After more than twenty-five years as an entrepreneur, he turned toward a path of self-discovery and service, shaped by mindfulness meditation and spiritual practice. In 2023, his journey deepened through Holotropic Breathwork, which profoundly impacted his life and inspired him to volunteer in workshops and support the community. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in counselling psychology, in order to become a psychotherapist. Matthew is passionate about holding space for others and serving as a witness in their healing journeys.

Jane's office is located in the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina, and the Iyarhe Nakoda. The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation.
